Lucinda Nicholas is an Australian model, actress, yoga instructor, writer and is part way through a Law Degree. Lucinda was raised in South Australia. All throughout her schooling life, Lucinda took part and enjoyed the sport of long distance running and played tennis, she started taking yoga classes when she was 13. The ability to withstand the long lengths of running had a big impact on Lucinda’s mindset and discipline with setting goals. Lucinda believes that anything is achievable if you put your mind to it.
Lucinda’s modelling career began in 2010 when she was discovered by the Miss World beauty pageant. Winning the South Australian title at the age of 17 with no previous modelling experience Lucinda continued modelling, notably representing internationally recognised designer Paolo Sebastian, featuring in the Brides of Adelaide magazine and working with several reputable South Australian brands during this time. The same year Lucinda had been accepted to study a Bachelor of Law degree.
After a couple of years, Lucinda then relocated to Sydney, Australia to progress her modelling career, working with some iconic brands such as Swarovski, Natures Way and various other brands. Lucinda postponed her studies to focus on her modeling and acting career solely. During this time, Lucinda was published in Men’s Fitness Magazine under the popular ‘Get the Girl’ campaign. After a few short months of being in Sydney, Lucinda was offered a contract to work in the film industry in India – introducing Lucinda to the world of Bollywood.
While in India in 2013, Lucinda spent some of her spare time volunteering in an orphanage, playing in the slums and teaching kids basic computer systems. Lucinda made her Bollywood debut with a feature in the film, “Boss” where she was selected to act and dance alongside Akshay Kumar and Yo Yo Honey Singh in the popular song ‘Party All Night’. Lucinda has also sought popularity working alongside Arjun Rampal in a nationwide campaign for Nivea.
Returning from overseas, Lucinda decided to return to her studies, which she had deferred whilst in India, transferring the Law Degree over to a University where she could study via correspondence. Upon returning to her studies Lucinda was offered the opportunity to be the lead actress in the music video for Nathaniel’s new single ‘You’re Beautiful’ (2014), which then carried on to debut at number 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Shortly after this clip, Lucinda featured as the lead actress in French Producer Watermat’s song ‘Bullit’ (2014), which reached number 2 on the Belgium charts and number 4 on the UK Dance Charts. The YouTube clip has a total of 15 million views and counting. Lucinda was then asked to return to feature in a sequel clip for Watermat, in a new song called ‘Frequency’, which reached a global audience of over 3 million viewers. In May of 2015, Lucinda became the first South Australian female to feature in the Australian edition of the internationally-recognised MAXIM magazine where she featured in a six page spread.
Upon returning from India Lucinda was asked to take part in the Australian Feature Film ‘The Tail Job’. The Tail Job has been selected to Premiere at the Slamdance Festival in Utah January 2016.
Lucinda began yoga ten years ago after her father introduced her to take classes with him. Years later, Lucinda maintained her own self-practice as well as taking classes regularly before obtaining her international qualification to teach. In the middle of 2015, Lucinda travelled to and lived in Paris and the United States. Lucinda worked out a travel routine, which worked for her including a daily self-practice of yoga and a lot of attention on health and fitness including resistant training and long distance running. Along with adapting to different cultures and learning about different parts of the world Lucinda developed a habit of writing everyday. Her degree was put on hold. In December 2015, Lucinda had her first publication in Oxygen Magazine Australia with the article titled ‘Stay on Track While on The Road!’ which is now available to read in the blog post section of this site.
